Day 1: Remember What He Has Done

Maybe it is a moment when a door opened at exactly the right time. Maybe it is a friendship that carried you through a hard season. Maybe it is a prayer that was answered in a way you never expected. Those moments matter. They are not coincidences. They are evidence. When you take time to celebrate what God has done, you are not living in the past. You are building faith for the future. You are reminding your heart that the same God who moved then is still moving now. Take a few minutes today to look back. Write down two or three things God has done in your life that you never want to forget. Let gratitude be the foundation you stand on as you step into whatever comes next.

It can be tempting to think that mission happens somewhere else. Overseas. In a different city. In a church building on a Sunday morning. But mission starts much closer to home than most of us realize. It starts on your street. Your neighbors are not random. God placed you in your neighborhood, your apartment complex, your cul-de-sac, for a reason. The people who live within walking distance of your front door are part of your calling. You do not need a plane ticket or a ministry title to make a difference. You need presence, intentionality, and a willingness to show up. This does not have to be complicated. It might look like learning your neighbor's name. Bringing a meal when someone is going through a hard time. Praying for the families on your block by name. Small acts of love, done consistently, plant seeds that God can grow in ways you may never fully see. You are not just a resident of your neighborhood. You are a representative of the kingdom of God in that specific place. That is not a burden. It is an invitation. And it is one of the most meaningful things you can do with your everyday life. Your street is your mission. Start there.

There are things that none of us can do alone, but all of us can do together. That is not just a motivational idea. It is the way Jesus designed His church to work. When a community of people chooses to be formed by Jesus rather than shaped by the noise of the world, something remarkable happens. Salvations. Restored relationships. Meals shared with people who are hungry. Schools built for children who have nothing. None of those things happen because one person had a great idea. They happen because a group of people said yes together. Community is not a bonus feature of the Christian life. It is central to it. When life gets hard, and it will, you need people who know you. People who will sit with you, pray with you, and walk with you through the hard parts. That kind of friendship does not happen by accident. It requires intentional choices and a willingness to let people in. If you have been doing life mostly on your own, today is a good day to change that. Get connected. Join a group. You have been reading this week about remembrance, faithfulness, mission, and community. Now comes the most important part: taking the step. God is not asking you to have everything figured out. He is asking you to move. To say yes to the thing He has been nudging you toward. To stop waiting for perfect conditions and trust that He is already at work in the situation in front of you. Maybe that step is joining a small group. Maybe it is finally having a conversation with a neighbor you have been meaning to talk to for months. Maybe it is saying yes to a role you have been quietly sensing God calling you toward. Whatever it is, the invitation is the same: trust Him and take the step. God is reigniting something in you. A passion, a purpose, a sense that there is more. That feeling is not an accident. He put it there. And He is faithful to complete what He starts in the people who choose to walk with Him. You do not have to see the whole staircase. You just have to take the next step. The same God who has been faithful in every season you have already walked through is the God who is walking with you into whatever comes next. He is not finished with you. Not even close.
